I've needed to essentially make this whole week a taper / rest week to recover from racing four measly events this past Sunday, but I started to feel like my old self again this morning and think I'll be ready to knock out a good 3,000 yard timed effort tomorrow. Today was similar to yesterday, but a little shorter at 2,000
1 x 300: fly-back-free by 100, kick-drill by 25
3 x 100: on 1:45, free gentle descend dolphin-flutter kick on back (1:34, 1:33, 1:25)
6 x 50: on 0:50, backstroke descend (from ~37 to ~32+)
1 x 50: easy
6 x "50": on 1:00, 25 strong - 25 easy, fly-fly-back-free-back-free
1 x 50: easy
1 x 400: kick for time - 5:53.7 with almost even split (2:56.7, 2:57.0)
6 x 50: active recovery on 0:40, 0:45, 0:50, 0:55, 1:00
That 400 kick for time has been my fastest thus far this season and was even faster than my official timed result from December 2021 (5:55.20). It's giving me confidence I have a shot at beating my best ever time of 5:35.77!
