As I ease into my taper, I took 10% off my Broken Mile test set this morning, by skipping the 4th round of 3 x 50, but this will be the last time I do a version of this set before I race. I also shortened my standard, long 1,750 yard warmup by dropping the round of speed 25s. My warmup speed was decent enough:
100s free - 1:12, 1:10, 1:05, 1:03
100s IM kick on back - 1:32, 1:30, 1:28, 1:25
50s build IM order - 31, 33+, 39+, 31+
So the "Broken Mile" was 1,500 yards in total, consisting of 3 rounds of:
3 x 50: on 0:45
2 x 100: on 1:25
1 x 150: on 2:05
Results compared to earlier this year and back to my best ever performance on this:

I held conistent with a couple of weeks ago, but this took A LOT of effort. I am feeling powerful in the water, but my stroke is a little disconnected and I'm still entering the water with residual fatigue. That will go away; plenty of time to rest.
